Kunal prefers direction over acting

Mumbai, Mar 27 (IANS): Actor-director Kunal Roy Kapur, who is known for his comic role in "Delhi Belly", says he prefers direction over acting.

Kunal told IANS: "I personally enjoy directing films. That has always been my forte. But I also love acting because you are pampered on sets so much, and who doesn't like to be pampered?"

He added: "The director's job is far more stressful and difficult, and it becomes difficult to manage so many people at the same time."

Kunal ventured into direction with his debut film "The President Is Coming" in 2009. Since then, he has acted in films including "Delhi Belly" and "Lions Of Punjab Presents".

The actor, who has been a director himself, says it becomes easy for him to capture the director's vision while acting.

Kunal says: "Being a director it becomes easy for me to capture the director's vision. It is certainly not an easy job to direct. At times I can understand the director's frustration when things don't go well.

"It also becomes easy to share your opinion with the directors for certain scenes."

Kunal is now promoting "Nautanki Saala". The film is directed by Rohan Sippy and features Ayushmann Khurrana, Pooja Salvi, Kunal and Evelyn Sharma. The film is slated for April 12 release.
