Mumbai, May 21 (PTI): Bollywood actor Vindoo Randhawa, son of late wrestler-actor Dara Singh, was today arrested in connection with the IPL spot-fixing scandal, a Mumbai Crime Branch official said.

"Vindoo was questioned after he was found to be in contact with the bookies and subsequently arrested today," the official told PTI without revealing further details.

49-year-old Vindoo, winner of reality television show Bigg Boss season 3, was on many occasions spotted watching IPL matches and attending post-match parties.

His arrest is the first from Bollywood in connection with the latest scandal to hit Indian cricket.

It is not yet known if he was a link between IPL players and the bookies or was just into betting.

The Crime Branch, which is also probing the scandal apart from Special Cell of Delhi Police, had yesterday questioned a casting director who sent photographs of models to S Sreesanth and summoned a Telugu film producer having business links with the tainted India pacer.

The move came amid suspicion that honey traps could have been laid to lure cricketers into spot-fixing IPL matches.

The Special Cell of Delhi police had arrested Sreesanth, his Rajasthan Royals teammates -- Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan -- and Jiju on May 15 night for allegedly indulging in spot-fixing in at least three IPL matches.

Apart from electronic devices, including a laptop, Rs 72,000 cash, data card and diaries with entries in English and Malayalam, which appeared to be in Sreesanth's handwriting, were also seized.

Sreesanth's laptop had dozens of photographs of models e-mailed to him by the casting director.

One by one, new faces are exposed in the match/spot fixing scam.

Vindu must have had enough (pegs) before entering the stadium. he was enjoing watching Doni's wifes face rather than watching the cricket match.

I think, government has to make provision in the cell to fit additional cricket criminals falling in Dehli police trap.

A person works in a company learns the company's business tricks and later starts his own business in the same line. When the company comes to know about it takes action against him like dimissal, police case etc. Same thing here. This man started doing this betting business on his own. So his previous bosses (big fishes in BCCI, bollywood, politics and underworld)in the betting and fixing business wants to finish him off. End moral, in money business every one is a crook. Another face of rotten system.

Religious Fanaticism and Caste-narrow-mindedness are most harmful to India, besides corruption.
Very low Honesty level (Low HQ - Honesty Quotient) among all the Indians which is more harmful than above all.

Shame on this man.... What less did he had in life... He has not struggled much to come to the films unlike his father So he doesnt know the pain and hardwork required to earn the money. His father was known worked really made the Country proud by throwing KING KONG out of the ring in wrestling where as this man has put the entire country to shame

Just like these cricketers can be banned for life from Cricket.... BOLLYWOOD too should make it a rule...

If Vindoo is involved then it can be safely assumed that others from Bollywood also be there. The Bollywood and underground links have been there for a long time. Now that Vindoo is in custody and the Police has suspected him to be a bookie himself. under Police custody he may spill out the other names from Bollywood. The net is keeping on spreading far and wide. And if the Police is able to really get all those who are involved then it will really be a commendable job well done. One More thing It is important to have a clear distinction between betting and fixing. Though as of today both are illegal, the probability is high that in near future betting will get legalised (It is already legalised in many countries). The real issue then is that of fixing. The authorities would do well to go after fixing and get that rooted out of the system. That is the real black hole.

I was a fan of Indian cricket. i would go mad when they loose a match. Now I am thinking did I do a right thing? I had a chance to meet and talk to Azaruddin in Dubai. His answer to my question -will you beat Pakistan in tomorrows final in sharjh was we will try - NOT that we will win. later on we came to know about his involvement in betting.NOW I AM NOT GOING TO LOOSE MY SLEEP OVER THIS CRICKET. EVERY ONE WANTS TO MAKE MONEY EXCEPT SOME PLAYERS WHO WANTS TO DO THEIR BEST TO THEIR COUNTRY.

    Baap Dara Singh...Rustam-E-Hind, beta Vindoo..zaleel-e-hind!!
Corruption and match fixing exists even in World Cup football.. So ensure the law is strict and punishment is severe. Once proved corrupt they should never have any involvement in
cricket for their next two generations. Same should apply to politicians.

I was surprised to see some of our IPL Matches. Chenai super Kings losing with smallest total. Some players who is having fastest 50/100 were playing with 10 over 60 runs only. I was suspicious and I commented once but some one our readers commented what a dirty observation. Now everything will come out.
