Mangalore: Bearys Welfare Forum felicitates U T Khadar

Mangalore, Jun 22: Mohamed Ali Uchil, president of Bearys Welfare Forum-Abu Dhabi along with a delegation of community leaders, during their recent Mangalore visit met U T Khadar, minister for health and social affairs Govt of Karnataka. They congratulated and felicitated the minister on being inducted into the Karnataka Cabinet.

They urged the minister to direct Karnataka government to simplify the process of obtaining seats in professional colleges for Non-resident Indians of south Indian state.

Khader Talapady, community leader, Abbas Uchil of Jamatual Falah, Riyadh Unit U N Ismail Uchil and Abdul Sattar Uchil among others were present.

In a memorandum forwarded to the chief minister through the Karnataka Health minister U T Khader, the forum demanded to ease the eligibility for government seats for the children of Karnataka based NRIs in such colleges .It also requested to take an immediate remedial action to bring parity between students of Karnataka who are residing in the state and students who
are studying abroad.

The memorandum also explained the current difficulties faced by the NRIs and to redress by the way of proper amendments to the prevailing eligibility criteria; so that the NRK students are given equal chance to enter professional colleges in Karnataka under government seat quota.

The minister gave a sympathetic approach to the demands and assured the needful to be done.
