Mangalore, Jun 26: P Laxman Mallya (70) from Kotekar near Ullal in the taluk breathed his last on Monday June 24.  When his end came, Mallya had reached home after witnessing the funeral of his younger son.

Laxman Mallya was a former trustee of Ullal Lord Laxmi Narasimha Temple and Manjeshwar Lord Madanantheshwara Temple. He has left behind wife, a son, and three daughters.

Laxman Mallya had voluntarily retired after working for Ganesh Beedies for two decades. He was running his own business at Kotekar. He had functioned as founder president of Kolya Adarsha Mitra Mandali, president of Ullal Lions Club, and honorary president of Sarvajanika Sri Ganeshotsava Samiti Kotekar Beeri.

His younger son, P Venkatesh Mallya (36) had lost his life on account of some ailment on Monday June 24. Mallya, who had come home after his son’s funeral, suffered cardiac arrest sometime thereof, in the evening.

As a mark of respect to Laxam Mallya, shops and establishments in Kotekar Beeri downed their shutters on Monday. A number of dignitaries including MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel, took part in his funeral.

Dear brother Prabhu, please don't get upset with dislikes. As we all know everybody is not educated or computer savvy. So let us ignore the dislikes and pray for the family members who have lost two members of their family.

It happened in my family as well, way back in the year 1984. When my father got the news that his eldest son(and my brother), aged 55, died due to a heart attack, my father, who was 74 years old then, had a stroke, and died later within 3 days - a double tragedy. Yes, as some commentators said earlier, it is very difficult sometimes for someone to take the tragic news, as it happened in the case of Laxman Mallya. May you both, Laxman and Venkatesh rest in peace.

Its really a shocking news.. During my childhood i lived in Kotekar and I used visit their shop "Sweets Stall" regularly. Its been more than 15 years i saw them. When I saw Venkatesh's pic i remembered them and wanted to meet them during my next visit to India. But never i would see their pic for this reason.

Dear Mr. K R Prabu, I strongly agree with you with regard to clicking on "disagree" on sensitive issues. In this case a father dies as he cannot bear the demise of his son. As you said no father or mother should have the misfortune of performing the last rites of any of their children. As regard clicking disagree I do not think, they understand the comments or the sentiments expressed therein. They click just for the sake of clicking. Like people clicking "agree" for adverse remarks of some people on rape cases, as if a female undergoes rape on her free will. I pity the stunted growth of their mental faculties.

    "Puthra shokam nirantharam..."
Almighty God should not give any opportunity to any father to see the death of his son.It is the greatest tragedy for him in the life whatever material luxury one gets.
May almighty God betow eternal peace to the souls of son and father.....
