Mangaluru, Mar 5: The inaugural function of the sports meet at Mangala College commenced with invocation.
The event was graced by Dr Murali Keshava S, consultant pediatrician and medical director, Sparsha Diagnostics, Dr Kirana Pailoor, lab director and consultant pathologist, Sparsha Diagnostics who attended as the chief guests and received a guard of honor from a contingent of 5 march past groups.
The sports meet commenced with the ceremonial hoisting of the flag signifying its official opening.



Dr Ganapathi P, chairman of Mangala Group of Educational Institutions, delivered an inspiring presidential address and officially declared the sports meet open. The programme was presided by Dr Ganapathi P chairman, Mangala Group of Educational Institutions, and Dr Anitha G Bhat, vice chairman, Mangala Group of Educational Institutions, Neermarga.
The sports events commenced in the presence of Prof Pratijna Suhasini GR, principal, Mangala College of Allied Health and Paramedical Science, Prof Subramanya Nayak, principal, New Mangala College of Nursing and Mangala School of Nursing, Dr Bharath K H, principal, Mangala College of Physiotherapy, and Prof Geethalakshmi, vice principal, Mangala College of Allied Health and Paramedical Science on February 24. The competitions continued until February 27. The indoor games included carrom and chess competitions.
The event featured a range of competitions, including track events such as the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, and 1500m races, along with the 4x100m relay. Field events included the long jump, high jump, shot put, and discus throw. Additionally, team sports like throwball, volleyball, cricket, and tennikoit added to the excitement.
Yogesh Patgar and Arun Kumar who serve as the physical education directors of Mangala Group of Educational Institutions, officiated the events.
The annual sports meet of Mangala Group of Educational Institutions was a remarkable and successful event. The event brought together a vibrant display of athletic talent, teamwork, and competitive spirit, creating an electrifying atmosphere throughout the competitions. The sports meet not only provided a platform for students to showcase their athletic abilities but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and unity among participants, reinforcing the true essence of sports and teamwork. Roshna Stylian, associate professor, Mangala College of Physiotherapy served as the master of ceremony.
