Ireland, Sep 10: Konkan Ireland  celebrated Monthi feast (nativity of Mother Mary) on  September 8 at 10:30 am at the Bush Centre, Balgady, Lucan, Dublin.

At the beginning, Jerald D’Sa invited Fr Jayan and Fr Suresh for the celebration of holy Eucharist. The event began with the mass which was celebrated by Fr Jayan and co celebrant was Fr Suresh.

All the group members participated in the mass devoutly and sang Konkani hymns. After the mass all the members of the group venerated Our Lady with flowers and the hymn ‘Moriyek hogolsiyan’.

After the mass Ida D’Souza who compered the event, welcomed all the group members and explained the significance of the feast. She also welcomed few new families who attended the function for the first time. The president of the group Ashok Cutinha spoke few words about the achievement of the group and future plans.

Children of the group showed their talents such as  solo and group dances and singing, Arathi and Sandrin danced to a bollywood number; Saritha, Santhosh, Diana, Vijay and Alwyn played the comedy skits and entertained.

A delicious vegetarian lunch prepared by Jacob caterers was served which was enjoyed by all.

All the group members enjoyed the event with some games and bollywood and baila dance. At the end Cajetan Gomes cultural secretary of Konkan Ireland gave a vote of thanks to all the members for participating Monthi Feast and also thanked Fr Jayan and Fr Suresh for celebrating the mass.

Finally he thanked Ida D’Souza for comparing the event and all the members who have worked hard to make this feast successful. At the end of the day everybody returned home with a smile on their face and sweet memories.
