It is a good initiative on the part of Mr. J. R. Lobo to make a visit to U.A.E. and create an acquaintance far and beyond the borders of India. With more than 25 million people of Indian origin scattered all parts of the world, Indian politicians should now move forward and create new dialogs with people not only of the Indian origin but also with other nationalities.

Our relations with the Arab world is no longer only for exchange of expatriates, but India is now one of the major consumers of Energy requirements from the Persian Gulf region. There is lot more opportunity now prevails for Joint Ventures, Acquisitions and even business mergers between India and the Gulf countries. It is a "win win" situation for all, and India will therefore gain more by extending the hand of friendship with our Arab neighbors.

We hope that Mr. J. R. Lobo was also able to meet many of the Arab friends during his visit to the U.A.E. Let us invite many of our Arab friends to visit our country and get acquainted with our progress and the opportunities that lie ahead of us for a mutual collaboration that will create more investments, more job creations and most importantly more trust and confidence in each other for a long term benefit. There is lot of future scope available for not only Economic cooperation, but also Educational, Cultural and Social interactions. The women folk of the Arab world have a great deal of common benefit to share with the women folk of India. The future is filled with mutual cooperation, collaboration and communication.

    Dear Lobo sir,

Very visionary and meaningful thoughts in the field of future developments in Mangalore. In the mean time, we have to bear in mind that, it is high time to bring some changes in the mind-set of certain organizations/people because they still live the past (pre-historic) traditions & glorify the same to serve their selfish motives.

With due political will and support, we can achieve right developments but who can change the mind-set of such people who still thrive the generation old mind-set.

Mangalore is port city & our port can not be ignored.
Measures need to be taken to improve our port as well as customs warehouse facility, so that major companies in the country look at Mangalore for investment.

In order to attract tourist to Mangalore, we need good, wide and smooth roads, good drainage system, transport, hotels and above all, quick disposal of waste. We have wonderful beaches and they need to be developed. It is not responsibility of only the administration but every citizen should also be responsible to maintain hygiene.

It is not necessary that he will be in power only for 5 years. If he does good work definitely people will vote him again.

What Lobo has said about tourism is Right. But how. To attract the tourist the need of the Hour is the expansion of the airport with extended Runway for Big planes to land. This will attract the tourists and then for a good Depature & Arrival roads from the aiport to the city. Secondly is the other roads. Bummpy rides will not attract tourists. Hope Lobo in the capacity of a MLA will do his best. He should do devlopment works in such a way that in thee past 60 years no minister has done such works. Jai Ho LOBAM
