Mangalore, Nov 4: It was as if nature had decided to celebrate Diwali on Sunday November 3.

For the last couple of days, the city has witnessed intense thundershowers accompanied by rain and winds, something not normally seen at this time of the year.

Flashes of lightning and the rumbling thunder in the evening and night hours had the people taking cover as well as precautions.
Electricity in some parts of the city was hit for a few hours.

Not only Mangalore, places like Kundapur, Beltangady and other taluks too witnessed rainfall and thundershowers.

On Saturday November 2, a bolt lightning injured two workers at Mangalore International airport, and strong winds brought down the roof of a cracker stall, injuring two girls. There were reports of a few houses being damaged due to lightning.
