If the inflow of migrating Populace is increased sanitation problems also increased. During my Childhood we used to drink water of River. now it turns as a drainage. Instead of catching fish one can catch plastic bags, plastic bottles, electric bulbs and tubes, gutka sachets, sandles, chappals, shoes, broken plastic chairs, electronic waste, Human excretion, hotels Restaurants' waste, used condoms, sanitation napkins etc. Now a days we construct only multi storied buildings in the name of development allowing more and more migrate populace without proper sanitation facility. ( A one village population stays in the 7 floor bldg if each floor consists 12 flats) do we have sufficient water treatment plants? Drainage water heading towards....?

@ Lydia, Now cong govt is there hence do not blame them. If it is BJP then our version of comments would have been different.
Blame MCC and health department for neglecting the surrounding cleanliness.I have all rights to blame them as I pay the tax.I do not know about you.

    Mr. Pereira,

You have all freedom to blame the government if children contact disease due to unhygienic living conditions such as tape worm entering them through uncovered private parts/anal openings.

Similarly, people are free to blame the government for rapes happening in the society as well. Both the above incidents took place because there is a government in place (who charged you taxes to safeguard you). If there wasn't a government, perhaps it would not happened ! You pay the tax, everything is done - you behave in any manner, live under any conditions, why should one care ?

We by-pass basic cleanliness, our youth erring from moral lifestyle, etc., is not at all the cause but the government is - What do you say ?

@Lydia Lobo, kadri, just for your Information ,tape worm disease doesnt come from through privat parts or anal, but through unhygeniec practise whereas in India usual is ,we wash using water after our toilets.but hardly People wash Hands afterwards using soap and water ,so when we eat with Hands, goes to stomach.and in such unhygenic places, some go without sandels, hookworm infection also you get so.when specialy schwein meat is not cooked properly get infection which in its liver is.Infection does not go upwards.

Medical officers and govt may do the job once there is such a problem. The root cause is dumping garbage anywhere and everywhere. If a prominent garbage dump area is designated and all dispose it in right area strictly and municipality clears the heap on daily basis, will a basic step for a better future.

Besides the dirty surrounding other readers pointed out, see the children left on the open floor without undergarments ! I agree that Malaria, dengue virus is caused through insects but there are other means we get sick by - germs enter the human body through obvious openings if exposed to unhygienic conditions. Diseases are contagious - once one catches a disease, one-by-one all fall victim to ailments. Basic hygiene is taught even at primary school. Didn't any of these members enter even primary school level ?

If you can't cover yourself to protect against diseases, why blame the government ? Health officials may come and dis-infanticide the surroundings - do you expect them to do your personal cleaning too ?

Here helps only one Thing.self help by keeping your living area clean.when one sees, the surroundings are not clean.why cant People Keep or clean around themselves?to do that do they Need somebody else?only spraying is not the solution.Mosquitoes go elsewhere and settledown on extrement, dirty water. If they supply some toilets will be very helpful.unhygenic condtions should be fought.staying water should be avoided. This Problem is everywhere in Mangalore.

M C C will never take steps in eradicating diseases. Diseases should disappear by itself. Thank Manjayya Shetty health officer for knowing the facts only four days ago.! Fogging once in way in this area won't help. Let us wait and see what M C C or health officer will do.
