Stany D'Costa's book on law in Kannada released

Mangalore, Dec 1: Pradeep Kumar Kalkura of Kalkura Prathishtana on Saturday November 30 released the book ‘Ashta Kanoon Margadarshi’ written by Stanly R D'Costa, published by Ashling Publications.

Briefing about the book, author Stanly R D'Costa said, “This is a simple guide for the common man to educate him in the basics of law. This book emphasizes on concepts like human rights, family court law, laws pertaining to motor vehicles, parental protection, environment conservation, change of name, copyright protection, Indian Penal Code etc.

"As citizens of India we need to learn the laws under the Indian Constitution. The book has been written in a simple language with the intention to educate the common man about the laws governing our country," he said.

Pradeep Kumar Kalkura in his address said, “Every individual should be aware of laws which were framed as per the Constitution. The author has showed great efforts in putting his knowledge into writing in Kannada language to make it easier for day-to-day reference. If the laws are written in an individual's mother tongue, he or she can be educated in law and become capable of easily dealing with society. That task has been accomplished by Stanly D'Costa through his book ‘Ashta Kanoon Margadarshi’."

‘Ashta Kanoon Margadarshi’ is the author’s first book in Kannada. He has earlier penned a book on law in Konkani. 

On this occasion Dr Annayya Kulal, and district Bar Association president Ashok Adiga were present.
