Illicit liquor from Goa enters Karnataka freely because of inefficiency in both state excise gates mainly working for the restriction of free liquor transport. The Karnataka Government may think of shifting this staff and post committed staff to this gate to stop illicit liquor transported easily.Hope our government note this and do the needful.Thanq.

This may not be 1% of total alcohol that is flowing from Goa to Karnataka. People these days are drinking lots of Alcohol to relive tension and they are looking for cheaper Alcohol. Life has become filled with tension and Alcohol is a stress reliever though the results achieved with it is momentary. Smugglers take advantage of this do smuggling. I congratulate excise officers who did this wonderful job. May God bless this honest officer who did a fantastic job!

Wow, Great work Excise police. Posing nicely for the press conference after a great achievement of catching 21 liters of liquor by 11 policemen (2litres each) that too with full night operation with nakabandi. What about the passengers who were in the bus ? How about other vehicles and passengers fate due to nakabandi ? How many liters of petrol used for your vehicles to catch 21 liters of liquor ?? “Kelasa illada achari makkala - kethidnenthe”

These are small vendors. Aney kaddavanu kalla...Adike kaddavanu kalla. But I think the police should give some concession to these poor offenders, because that is the only way left for them to earn their family bread. Instead police must focus more on big thieves, looters and robbers.

Is there a circumstantial evidence that the liquor was meant for sale is the first point.

Secondly, if its a sale unless a sale is agreed before the transportation or after, the buyer too is jointly responsible, as the objective was in common.

Thirdly, if sale is not proven in court of law, maximum punishment not to exceed a levy of fine for infringement of excise laws and detention would be unlawful.
