Sullia: Lorry driver caught selling mid-day meal rice to restaurants!

Daijiworld Media Network – Sullia (EP)

Sullia, Dec 26: Make hay while the sun shines, goes the saying, and some of them do follow it, unfortunately for the wrong reasons.

A lorry driver whose job it was to transport rice meant for Akshara Dasoha mid-day meals from the godown, was on Wednesday 25 caught with the help of the locals for selling the rice.

The rice was being sold while being transported from the main godown of the department of food and civil supplies in Mangalore to the godowns of the department at Arambooru in Sullia. It is suspected that the illegal sale was going on for some time.

The lorry driver, Basavaraju (55) from Hubli, used to allegedly sell the rice meant for Akshara Dasoha to shops and restaurants.

The locals complained about Basavaraju to Radhakrishna Parivarakana, president of Aletti gram panchayat, who in turn caught the culprit red-handed while he was unloading the rice at a restaurant at Gandhinagar in Sullia. The president informed the block education officer who then complained to the police.

The police arrived at the spot and arrested Basavaraju.

The lorry is said to be belonging to a person at Bellare and the driver was employed there for the last ten years.

A case has been registered in Sullia police station.

Nothing will change unless and until the mastermind(s) behind this racket get busted.

Politicians behind this drama will make the lorry driver a scapegoat to save their own skin.

For corruption there no bar. It can be any greedy guy, whether the poor, the illiterate politician, the rich, the unhealthy possession hungry or who does not care for the good of his own country people. Stealing rice is a form of very serious kind of fraud and cheating the people of God and the deserving needy children. Ravenous Wolves in the Clothes of the Sheep.

Money earned by fraud means will never do any good. You will never prosper or have any peace of mind owning it. A hard earned 100 rupee will give you more satisfaction than a looted 100 million.

There are bigger thieves than the lorry driver. This driver should be pardoned and released. Catch the bigger thieves who loot the ordinary people. Which politician is not a thief or looter. Wearing white clothes does not mean all of them are clean. The people who bought the mid-day meals should be arrested and punished.

Lorry Driver is just one link in the long Chain. There is a well knit gang who sell mid-day meal rice and Daal in black market and make huge money in which some politicians are also involved.

Dear, Indians will loot every time they get a chance or until they caught. And we happily blame the Govt. for corruption and loot but the fact is that is people among us who loot the money provided by Govt. meant for poor.
