Infosys ex-board member V Balakrishnan joins Aam Aadmi Party

Infosys ex-board member V Balakrishnan joins Aam Aadmi Party

Bangalore, Jan 2 (PTI): In a surprise move, V Balakrishnan, who stepped down as Board member of software behemoth Infosys recently creating ripples in the corporate circles, has joined the Aam Admi Party.

"Yes I have become the member of AAP, have got the confirmation today," Balakrishnan told PTI with his move to dabble in politics coming three weeks after his sudden exit from India's second largest software services exporter.

"They (AAP) have revolutionised politics in this country, I'm fascinated with it," Balakrishnan said.

Announcing Balakrishnan's exit on December 20 as member of the Board and from services of the Company, Infosys had said the resignation is effective December 31, 2013.

Balakrishnan, who joined Infosys in 1991 and later became its chief financial officer, was said to be a top contender to the post of Chief Executive Officer.

In response to a question whether he was looking for a full time political career along with business commitments, he said, "In future, I think so....; I think I will be able to manage both."

Balakrishnan, soon after his exit from Infosys, had said he was waiting for SEBI's approval for his private equity fund, which he has formed along with former Infosys executive Mohandas Pai and former Wipro executive Girish Paranjpe.

To a question on contesting the Lok Sabha elections, he said, "It's too early to say anything about it." Balakrishnan was also the BPO head at Infosys as well as the Chairman of Infosys Lodestone, a global management consultancy firm.

Our political parties are filled with illiterate crooks, scammers and corrupt people who joined politics just to loot the country. AAP seems to be a party with new concept and with a clear vision dedicated to give a clean governance with educated people from all walks of life! Hope they get all the support from the voters to lead the country for a better future!

I appreciate the corporate leaders joining to active politics ...but they should not have objective to grab power and money. AAP provided a platform to non-political people to join politics to clean the “DIRTY” political system. AAP should continue it principles....Aam Admi is superior than any individuals....Let us wait for a few years whether AAP colour will change or fad or unchanged. Common Indian tolerated past 67 years corrupt, dynasty, dictatorship, religion/cast based politics...let us give one chance to AAP in the next election.

I think the best option in today's political scenario is for one to join AAP.

The mission of the party is to eradicate corruption and to put an end to the VVIP culture.

Mr. Aravind Kejrival is a model to the rest of the ministers and bureaucrats. Declining official vehicles, ministerial houses and much more facilities Mr. Kejrival and his team have shown how one can save taxpayers money.

I am going to join AAP and hope entire India embrace the AAP's waves.

I totally agree with you Varun!! The few capitalists today control the entire human race mainly the: pharma industry, top financial institutions, and the oil companies with their financial muscle plus the media too is majorly controlled by them thus having a vice like grip on the general population!! You rightly said the rich are getting richer by leaps and bounds and the poor poorer!! Very few people can have radical thinking like you!!

Both of us are entitled to our opinion. So do not tell me should i comment or not. I am not a fan of capitalistic society. These cronies made money via capitalism which essentially make rich more richer and poor more poorer. That is why they could afford everything and now they will preach morals to lesser privileged people. You are free to worship the capitalists. I do have any issue with that. How do you know these capitalists will serve the country or society?? I say its pure opportunistic move to join AAP now as its the flavor of the season.

Jossey, AAP and Kejriwal made Congress is not existed and now it will make all over India. It taken more votes from Congress than BJP. In three way contest BJP will benefit and win at least 180 seats. Kejriwal with his 25-30 seats forced to support BJP at center. This is truth.

Joining AAP should be an aim to serve the nation. The VVIP, VIP culture should stop completely. Taxpayers money should go for the development of good roads, clean environment, clean water and such other basic necessities and not for ministers security and enjoyment. Change is the need of the hour in all fields. I, I and I - means each one of us - should change first from all means and kinds of bad & evil to good, better and best. No giving bribe and no taking bribe then only corruption stops. For that it needs a strong decision from each one of us to lead a righteous life. For so many years we have accumulated so much evil and bad that it needs not only time but a hardest decision for each one of us. Thank You and God bless each one of us.

If we look at a few of the next upcoming Modi rallies we can judge how much things have shifted away from Modi.

Things will definitely shift away from Congress to AAP but die hard Modi fans are unshakable.

They are determined to take Modi all the way to Delhi...

I wish, like minded people join AAP to strengthen the party from it's adolescent years, give it proper direction and not to make haste in trying to erase corruption.
Those cases of corruption, which they are doubly sure should be tackled and success achieved. This kind of actions\success will create confidence for people to back the Party more and more to make it successful and become a major force in running the nation with very little corruption.
Wishing the Party every success in the future
    Well wisher.

I think AAP founder must be wary of taking these corporate bigwigs. Capitalism is far more dangerous than anything else.

What has Aam Aadmi party done?
Well,It has broken some taboos! It has made it ok to ask questions to the high and mighty. It has broken barriers and demanded accountability from our inefficient politicians.

Having said so,AAP is just a new start up and may not know everything. We have to bear with them for some time by supporting them and we must willing to forgive and nurture them for they seem to be our only hope. I wish them all the best in their endeavors.

When these kind of people enters the political arena in the name of service to society, it is highly suspicious . Hope they don't turn out to be a wolf in the face of the lamb.
