Improve working, avoid controversies, Digvijay to Karnataka ministry

Bangalore, Jan 6 (IANS): Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh Monday expressed displeasure over the working of several ministers in the party's government in Karnataka and cautioned Chief Minister Siddaramaiah against landing the party in controversies by hasty decisions, party sources said.

Digvijay Singh, who is in charge of party's Karnataka affairs, expressed these views at a meeting of the party's coordination committee here, the sources said.

He was upset that Bangalore roads continue to be pot-holed filled with no repair taking place even though monsoon is over, they said.

The Congress general secretary told Siddaramaiah that the issue of bringing a legislation to ban superstitious practices was not handled properly as it had landed the ruling party and the government in a controversy.

The ban move was initiated middle of last year but was opposed by several Hindu religious heads as they felt that it was directed against beliefs of only Hindus.

The controversy was sparked off following frequent statements by Law Minister T.B. Jayachandra that the government was determined to introduce the legislation during the legislature's winter session held late November last year.

The row subsided after Siddaramaiah clarified that the draft legislation prepared by a group headed by a professor of Bangalore-based National Law School of India University was not a government draft and any decision to ban superstious practices will be taken after wide consultations.

The sources said Digvijay Singh was also unhappy over Siddaramamaiah government's move in December last year that would have given freedom to professional colleges' (engineering and medical) management to fix the fee which many meritorious but poor students could not have afforded.

Following protests from students, parents and political parties, the move was dropped.

Besides Singh and Siddaramaiah, others who attended the meeting included state Congress chief G. Parameshwara, Energy Minister D.K. Shivakumar and Home Minister K. J. George.

Oh... Diggi surfaced in Karnataka after the poll debacle in MP and Rajasthan. Few supporters would have voted for Congress in coming Lok Sabha Election but now after seeing Diggi in Karnataka they too sit at home or opt for AAP. Anyhow Kar_Natak is spoiled State now ever since Congiss came to power and they get Fake Diggi Singh as their State In-charge too

Make it a practice to avoid luxurious life from public money. Live like a common man and lead from top.

It seems Congress Govt in Karnataka and CM post has also been at stake.

Time to crack down on all govt officials/politicians and individuals for encroaching into Govt land.
All Land records-registration- drawings attestation and should be all computerized .
Use GOOGLE Earth and track and crack down the land that is illegally possessed.
punish all the erring govt officials/politicians /police etc and confiscate the property should come back to the govt/nation.
No on should break the LAW.
No one is above law in a democratic nation.
    This is rampant so far.
To save space go vertical with proper designing and structural for foundations /parking etc .
Induct only professionals in govt jobs handling land /record/ architect approvals/designs etc.
    only engineers.

    First of all Mr.Digvijay,
You should advice all ministers/leaders of KPCC/AIC to stop giving media statements/press conferences in public...Only appointed spokespersons/CM/Party chief should give statements in public. Discipline is need of the hour in party and people like JP(mlor) are commenting in public press as if party is owned by them!
Coming to Govt of Karnataka, it should keep its election promise to provide corruption free governance till end even if tainted ministers are part of it and then I hope you will get min 20 seats in Apri/May'14.

The CM had 'announced' in early Dec that over 600 crore's has already been allocated for repairing the deadly potholes in Blr. I guess, he will now 'announce' another 1200 crores while the 'Honest-Socialist' CM & his Cong-I crooks will happily loot the state.

Due to urgency, competition and comparison, we are importing, producing and consuming a huge volume of fuel and facing severe consequences.
By blaming, arguing and commenting, we are wasting and losing our energies without finding or supporting to have solutions to our miserable problems.
If we use the millions of tons of weight on wheels as a pushing force (instead of carrying and moving the dead weight of commuters and goods, as infants), we can save a considerable volume of fuel and solve our several severe problems.
If we are serious about problems let us support and look for solutions, instead of wasting precious time in judging each others, for which we are not eligible and authorized.

It is not Karnataka Ministry which is creating controversies. But it is Cong High command in Delhi which is creating controversy by imposing tainted ministers like DKShi and Beg on Siddu inspite of vehement opposition of Karnataka Cong.

Are congi agents here now aware of what their govt is doing? When I told this they were not ready to accept. Ministers should repair the road, but not to attack the people who demand the good road. Goondagiri will no more work. Already you ate dust in Delhi. Still not learning.
