Dubai, Jan 27: The tragic Dubai-Mangalore Air India Express crash of May 2010, which left 158 people dead including the crew, will soon be depicted on the big screen.

A feature film in Malayalam focussing on the air crash is on the cards and shooting is expected to begin in about three months.

A part of the movie will be shot in the UAE, particularly Dubai, as the tragedy involved passengers travelling from Dubai to Mangalore.

The movie, titled 'Eni Mazhayulola Nattilekku' (Now Towards a Rainy Abode), is being directed by Shaheer Ummer, a Keralite who has been living in the UAE from past several years.

The film aims to portray the humane side of the tragedy, focussing on the victims and their kin who are still awaiting compensation. Shaheer Ummer said at a press conference on Saturday January 25 in Dubai that he has personally visited the families and tried to understand what they have been going through for the past four years since the tragedy.

Shaheer also happen to be the general secretary of Human Rights Youth group in Kerala.

Shaheer added that the sufferings of the victims' kin had moved him to make a film telling their side of the story.

Several senior actors from Malayalam and Kannada film industry will be part of the movie along with Dubai-based talents.

The film producers will also try to help a few of the victims' kin during the course of the shooting, Shaheer said.

The film is being produced under the banner of Golden Seven Productions. Abdul Rasheed is the co-producer. The cinematography is by Dubai-based Anil Vadakkekkara, and Rafeeq Ahmed is the lyricist. The music will be composed by Maneesh Thampan.

That was a biggest tragedy in the history Mangalore. Now someone wants to be a millonair within no time. I still remember the vision children were burnt, screaming and one man carrying a baby girls body and running away from that burning plane. Earlier people were trying to get maximum out of that tragedy by way of demanding few lacs rupees more from what was d officially. Now time has come not only to forget about those died and gone, cruel minds are asking for more out of this movie to sit at home and enjoy a tragedy for someones tears and grief. Those who have that kind of thinking, your time has not come yet.

    @ Bhandarkar
Kerala has the highest literacy rate in India,in case you didn't know!
They can read, write and speak very well.

Gents cant act??Akshay Kumar has himself admitted that it was Mohanlal's malayalam film remakes that saved his career.
Malayalam films have actors, not star kids who cant act.
Almost all actors come from stage/theater background and hence can act!

Only good remakes were Hera Pheri,Hulchul and few others.Rest were all spolit by over acting bollywood stars!

By the way, where is Kannada film industry???
Banning hindi films so that they dont suffer. What logic..LOL!

Mr.Director, please also film the rescue operation part, wherein how some youths calling themselves as helpers, snatched as much as possible melted gold ornaments, from the bodies of dead & injured, in the name or rescue operation, who were later arrested by our Police intelligence.
