St Antony Church is constructed on a small hill located on the bank of River Phalguni. When NH66 was being widened, a landslide destroyed part of the church, making a new building necessary.

The new church building is to include a grotto, a belfry, and a parochial house.

St. Antony's Church at Kulur is ideally located. With the growing development of the port, added with many industrial developments, Kulur church should be getting good publicity for lot more Catholics than ever before.

We do not see any mention of school activities at Kulur church. A kindergarten school, an elementary school, a middle school and then a High School would certainly attract many neighboring children to avail of the educational benefits from the parish church.

A Catholic church is a good show piece of worship to all the Catholics. Let the newly decorated church shine well during the day time as well as during the night and let there be a nice sign board showing the church programs so that many passers will be able to visit the church and attend the programs.

In these changing times, the Catholic Churches, especially in India have an important role to play. With so many cruises coming into the Mangalore port, let there be special events conducted by the church so that those events can attract the tourists visit the facility.

Kulur Church has a history because the church was established during the latter part of the 19th century. The church has a beautiful river to boast and there could always some river festivals or carnivals to display in season that will not attract some additional income that could be used for various school scholarships.

The parishioners have a great deal to depend on the church authorities to come with so many new ideas that will bring in more Christians closer to the place of worship.

Best of luck to all those that were instrumental in renovating the long cherished desire for the Kulur church. Its a prime location for all passer-by tourists and travelers to see. As and when we visit Mangalore next, we shall certainly visit the church and see all the progress that has been achieved.
