Daijiworld News Network - Mangalore (GA)

Mangalore, May 20: "The work on Bangalore-Mangalore railway route is already over and the track has been cleared for transport.  Already the goods trains are chugging off between the city and Bangalore.  The notification has also been issued in the last week.  However, so far there are no signs as when the passenger trains will start on the route.  If the service is not started by June 15, BJP will get to the streets," said BJP state president D V Sadanand Gowda.

Speaking to the reporters here on Friday May 19 he said that for some unknown reasons the government and the railway department have been delaying the train service between the capital and the city.  "I have spoken to union railway minister Lalu Prasad Yadav in this regard.  I will once again meet him and speak to him when he comes to Bangalore in the next month," he added.

This is not the first time that D V Sadanand Gowda has been issuing such warning.  He had set December 15, 2005 as the deadline earlier and had warned off stern protest in case the service was not started by the end of the deadline.  More than 6 months have passed then and nothing precious has been done yet.  In between the only gain has been that he has become the president of state BJP, said a resident of Puttur while speaking to this correspondent.
