The gang of four had stopped a bus at Suratkal, before dragging out and killing Prakash (23), a native of Andhra Pradesh, near National Institute of Technology Karnataka in Suratkal. The main accused continues to evade arrest. The policemen claim that the accused have confessed to have murdered Prakash because of his role in the murder of Shivaraj at Kodikere near Kulai on the night of July 19, 2012. Prakash and his friend, Dinesh, have been charged with committing this murder. It is said that the accused had been planning to eliminate Prakash since a year.

The accused were forced to surrender because of intensive investigation with the help of modern technology initiated by the policemen, and also as their financial resources had dried up, the policemen said.

The investigation was guided by city police commissioner, R Hitendra, with the involvement of deputy commissioner of police, Jagadish, Pabambur assistant commissioner of police, Ravikumar, Suratkal station house officer, M A Nataraj, Mulky station in-charge, Valentine D’Souza and several other policemen.

A Supari Gang, consisting of only Minor boys may come up shortly. After all maximum punishment for murder or rape is just 3 years jail term only and nothing more.
