Bombay High Court gets notice over salary

Panaji, March 6 (IANS): The Goa State Human Rights Commission has asked the Bombay High Court bench here and the Goa chief secretary to say in a week why salaries were not paid to over 150 court staffers for a month.

The notice was issued by the Commission’s Secretary, B. Mahale, Thursday following a complaint by lawyer activist Aires Rodrigues.

Both the chief secretary and the court’s Registrar have been asked to submit a report by March 14.

Rodrigues claimed that high court employees had not been paid salaries for February.
