Mumbai, Jun 6: Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, whose latest flick Fanaa could not be released in Gujarat following sharp reaction to his stand on Narmada dam oustees, ruled out apologizing for his remarks even if it hampers his career in the industry.

Addressing the media at his Bandra residence, the actor said there was no question of tendering apology to anyone. After all, he had said what the Supreme Court had earlier stated in its order, Khan asserted.

Asked whether his stand on the issue could hamper his career, he said "Maybe it will. Perhaps producers will be apprehensive of signing me on."

"I welcome the Supreme Court stand on the release of Fanaa, asking the authorities to provide security to theatres wanting to screen the film. It is now up to the BJP Youth Wing workers to decide whether or not they want to respect the Supreme Court, freedom of speech and democracy," Khan said.

"I would only like to appeal to the people of Gujarat not to be fooled by all the propaganda against me. They only have to look me in the eyes to realize the kind of love I have in my heart for Gujarat and its people."

Khan seemed disappointed at the kind of support he had received from the industry. "It is up to the film industry to decide what its future course of action is. The whole nation is watching to see whether it takes a concrete step, or whether it takes a weak step or nothing at all," he added.
