Sharjah : 4-year-old boy dies during desert safari

Dubai, Mar 23 (Agencies):  A four-year-old Indian boy died in a car accident while he was on a desert safari with his family in the UAE.

Pranav, from Kerala, was killed when the vehicle he and his family were riding the dune in turned turtle on Tuesday in a desert in the Madam area of Sharjah, the Khaleej Times reported.

"Our car had driven up a dune and it overturned when it was going down. I think the climb down the mound was steeper than what the driver assumed and he lost control," Pranav's uncle Ajith Kumar was quoted as saying.

Pranav's father Arun Kumar, a television cameraman, and his brother Ajith organised the desert safari after the latter had come over for a visit from India.

Pranav was travelling with his brother and parents in the vehicle which overturned while the rest of the family members were in another vehicle.

The family’s friends remembered Pranav as a very smart and happy child. “They had just returned after a visit to India. That child was looking very cute after getting his head shaved in a famous temple,” said a family friend.

He said that the boy was to start schooling in two weeks. “He had got admission in Delta School in Sharjah. This was not the first time they went for the desert safari. I think they have gone for it for some four to five times. It’s very tragic that his life was taken away like this,” he added.

The shattered parents of the child are being taken care of by relatives and friends in Sharjah. The body of Pranav is likely to be flown to the family’s hometown in Alappuzha in the south Indian state of Kerala.

All others sustained minor injuries.

Parents should be care about the children... I hope it's really true to say about parents' negligence so we can't tell more from that.Just justify & think about it.

    Dear All,

Safety is the first priority when it comes to desert safari or Offroading.

People in Gulf get the 4WD with easy installments and think they are the kings in road and desert.

when is comes to safety they don't even know how to replace the punctured tyre or to check the Tyre pressure.

its always recommended by professionals not to rake infants and Kids to the Desert Safari, However if you still want to take them its always better to have an Baby seat and that too fixed very properly.

and all the adults or kids who ever entering the desert for Safari or Dune Bashing please wear always the seat belts , no matter how professionals you are.

more over being i am a regular OFFROADER. request you all the readers and commentators of gulf don't drive your 4WD if you don't have the basic knowledge of offroading. please don't go against the nature.

    RIP young KID!!!

There are child safety norms world wide..
Next, you will have a 3 year old parachute failed to open death.
There should be an age limit for such dangerous sport.
