Mangalore: St Christopher Assn celebrates Founder's Day

Mangalore, Mar 27: The St Christopher association was founded on March 26, 1967, the members and well wishers celeberated this day at the association hall recently.

Founder secretary Alphonse Fernandes was honored by senior member Denis Lobo along with 10 other founder members.

Honorary president Sushil Noronha felicitated the founder members and spoke on the occasion and stated "when the association started there were 132 founder members and with their selfless service and social concern has made us proud. Due to their hard work and effort,the hostel facilities were provided to the needy and for drivers financial support through the Maco Society; the Balmatta petrol pump is also rendering better service to the customers. This all due to the efforts of the founder members. Currently, we have 1500 members with a unity set up to be an example for other associations."

Spiritual director Fr J B Crasta  said ,”The dedication and sacrifice of  the senior members is a great encouragement for the future."

Founder secretary Alphonse Fernandes in his speech recalled all the old memories. Association president Raymond D’Cunha welcomed the gathering, secretary Herald D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks.

On this occasion vice president Francis D’Souza, joint secretary Denis D’souza were present on the dais.
