Take 2: Krrish has got a better opening than Fanaa at the box office
 
Rakesh Roshan has planned a sequel to Krrish and guess what? The film already has buyers!

“We are proud to be associated with Rakesh Roshan and will continue to do so with the sequel of Krrish. If the film is made, we will distribute it,” says Sahedev Ghai, vice president of distribution for Yash Raj films.

Adds Mohan Krishnan, head of corporate communication, Prasad group, who has collaborated with the Roshans in the processing of the prints and special visual effects, “Rakesh Roshan has spoken to us about making Krrish II and with Krrish getting a good box office opening, a sequel is but natural.”

Roshan confirmed that Krrish II is on the cards, “After the success of Krrish, I will definitely make a sequel,” said Roshan.

“It’s an outstanding film with a 100 per cent box office collection in the first week. It has got a better opening than Fanaa and Phir Hera Pheri. There are special 6 am shows in small sectors in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab,” says Taran Adarsh, trade analyst and critic.

The film is also said to give black marketeers a chance to double earnings. “As ticket rates at multiplexes in suburbs vary from Rs 160 to Rs 350, we have multiplied the rates three times to Rs 500 and Rs 1,000,” adds Salim, one of the black marketeers from western suburbs.
