    Mr. Saheb, Siddapur

Some projects should remain unfinished like this one, so that many Ministers can visit the site and show that they are so efficient and concerned and they take written undertakings from the Project Engineers at the site too!!! to complete the work by July 15.
Either the reporter forgot to mention the year or the Minister himself did not want the year of completion mentioned which usually happens for all Government projects.
Actually there is no hurry for this project to complete as it is nearing half a century mark since it was initiated. Indian Citizens are never in a hurry to get completed project from the State or Central Government in time. They have learnt to live without them and know very well these projects are meant for filling the Ministers\political parties\bureaucrats pockets.
I hope (against hope) Modi Government will be different and all the projects decided will be more or less completed on time even if they are involved in corruption.
Most important is to complete the projects on time so the escalating cost will be saved which is much, much more than the money pocketed.

Project commenced in 1979 not yet completed - one of the reason they are citing is "unable to acquire land"
Don't they know they have to acquire the land first and then start the project? Why they start projects without completing the necessary pre-project work?
All humbug politicians\governments\bureaucrats. Since, Modi, he says he is above corruption, hope he takes stringent measures to penalize\imprison the guilty ones in the shortest possible time.
I will vote for him ever after.
it is like a drowning person grasping at straws to save himself!!

This project has been biting dust since couple of decades which lead to the escalation of cost by more than 10 times the launching estimates.

I am surprised by Pramod , Vinay Kumar cannot look into mini dams at all the local rivers in Udupi and Mangalore districts which will be much faster, cheaper to build and maintain, while they will also contribute to the charging of the water tables in our coastal area.

It will also help to increase agricultural production in the area too.

Dear folks, kindly form some watchdog committee that will ensure transparency and accountability in completing this project on time.
