Finnish firm to launch smartphone in India


Helsinki, July 26 (IANS): Finnish smartphone maker Jolla has announced that it will enter the Indian market with its Sailfish OS smartphone next month.

The company has entered into a partnership with Indian e-commerce web site Snapdeal to sell the device in India.

"India is the rising smartphone market of the world and we look forward to welcoming many new Jolla fans across the country," said Sami Pienimaki, co-founder of Jolla, in a statement.

The Sailfish is a clean, colourful design.

The Rs.28,000 (349 Euro) phone will have a 1.4 Ghz processor, 1GB RAM and a 16 GB memory.
