Mumbai, Sep 23: Bigg Boss 20 contestant Kushal Tanwar, popularly known as Gullu, has finally confirmed that the viral wedding photographs of him that surfaced online in 2025 were genuine and revealed that he was divorced in 2024.
During a conversation with fellow contestant Qazi Touqeer in the latest episode, Gullu spoke about his marriage for the first time after previously denying that he was married and calling the photographs fake.
Gullu revealed that his marriage lasted around five-and-a-half to six months and said he was not in love with his former wife. He explained that he married largely because of family and social pressure, as marriages are often arranged at a relatively young age in his community.
When Qazi asked whether he had been in love with his former wife, Gullu replied, “Nahi tha. Aise koi pyaar vyaar nahi tha.”
He said 2024 was a particularly difficult year for him and that he went through several personal experiences during that period. Gullu recalled that he had wanted a divorce, while his family opposed the decision.
According to Gullu, the disagreement led his family to cut ties with him temporarily as they believed the decision could affect their reputation and standing in their village and community. He said it took nearly a year for the situation to settle.
Gullu described the period as emotionally difficult but said he had eventually managed to move on from it.
He also revealed how his wedding photographs became public. Gullu said the pictures were leaked while he was in Goa with the Roadies gang, leaving him unsure about how to handle the situation.
“I was in Goa with the Roadies gang and someone leaked out images. I thought it was a game over for me. I didn't know what to do,” he said.
The wedding photographs had first surfaced online in 2025 during Gullu’s stint on Splitsvilla 16. They resurfaced in September 2026 following his entry into the Bigg Boss 20 house.
The photographs showed Gullu dressed as a groom in a white sherwani alongside a woman in a red lehenga. The two were seen wearing garlands, while Gullu also sported a tika on his forehead.
