Harbhajan Singh keen to invest in power sector in Karnataka

Bangalore, Sep 3 (DHNS): Star cricketer Harbhajan Singh is exploring the possibility of investing in the wind and solar energy sectors in the State. He met Energy Minister D K Shivakumar here on Wednesday to pursue his business interest.

Singh appreciated the State government’s efforts to provide free power to farmers, which is not done by many states.

The cricketer spent 15 to 20 minutes with the minister and discussed the need for adopting and promoting clean and green energy in the country. Singh also enquired with the minister regarding possibilities in the State for investments from either him or his associates in Punjab.

The minister is said to have expressed keenness in such investments.

Later, Singh told reporters, “I met the minister to express the urgent need to have green energy in the country. The meeting was fruitful and we agreed to generate green energy for farmers.” Shivakumar also spoke in the same vein and said that the State was trying to promote the use of clean energy.

Trust cricket crazy ministers will not make everything tax-free to Harbhajan Singh in Karnataka !!! If Harbhajan is so concerned about poor farmers of Karnataka, he should supply free electricity to them. If he does it, I would shout on the top of the roof " Jai Harbhajan, Jai Kisaan"
