You can drive any type of vehicles any where in road, any side of the road, this is the Indian driving culture. Horrible in the world. Neither police knows the rule nor people knows the rule. No strict law enforcement.

Unless there is STRICT Traffic Law ENFORCEMENT in Mangalore, such incidents keep going up& up day by day. Not single person wants fight against this kind of 'GOOD CAUSE' where they can "SAVE the "PRECIOUS LIVES".

First of all I am sorry to say a young person who lost his life.
People blame lorry, bus, or car hit bike, or scooti.
The way bikers and scootis drive as if they own the road. They zoom in and out in front of big vehicle in wrong directions where big vehicle drivers cannot see them.
When we were travelling last year on the bus or cars, these bikers or scootis they just drive as they like. THERE IS SHOULD BE A LAW FOR THE BIKERS AND SCOOTIS NOT TO TAKE OVER BIG VEHICLE FROM WRONG SIDE OR TAKE OVER. They donot respect bus or lorry drivers. Even they don't let pedestrian cross the road. They just want to ZOOM.

RK, India/USA: What you wrote is absolutely correct. We do not have traffic sense and culture. Even on highways, slow moving vehicles drive on the fast centre lane, thereby fast moving vehicles on Highways, which are meant for highway fast driving are forced to move on the slow left lane with highway speed. Majority of the offenders are Auto rickshaws and loaded trucks, either they move on the centre fast lane with slow speed or approach the road on the left side with mobiles glued to their ears even there are dividers on the highways. If you try to correct them, they will give abusive words.

When the accidents takes place, we blame the others. Even the police department seize the vehicles and arrest the drivers even he is innocent and not at fault. Police simply do not carry out investigations. This is disgusting and stupid Indian Law. That is our culture. Seeing is believing. God save our people and Country. Jai Hind

These drivers who indulge in HIT AND RUN concepts should be apprehended and booked for serious crime like these.

It will not be long before the police nab the culprit and deal with him according to law.

My sympathies to the members of the bereaved family.

    Very sad, so many accidents.
Deaths due to accidents are many times more than due to sickness.
It is high time Govt enacts laws to curb accidents and lawlessness on roads.
Govt has proposed to increase penalties for traffic violations, more than 500%
But has not proposed improve and make two way roads, signaling system, filling potholes, reducing curves, posting Policemen at signal to curb signal jumping.
Policemen posted at the signal stands far to temptate drivers to jump signal so that he can squeeze money.

Hit and Run incidents happening every now and then all over the country, still no law is written.
Even if there is a law, it is not implemented seriously. This is a serious matter, Police should have strict law written and enforced thru Motor Vehicle dept.,
It has been some 67 years since independence, surprised by the lack of interest by law makers. In any other country, you cannot leave the scene of the accident until police arrive and complete investigation.
