Guardiola rules out future Barcelona return

Madrid, Nov 12 (IANS): Former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola has said that he has no intention of returning to the club.

Guardiola, who is now at Bayern Munich, assured he would not be back in the dugout of the Catalan club where he grew as a player and where he had four successful years as a coach, reports Xinhua.

Between 2008 and 2012, Guardiola led Barcelona to two Champions League titles, three La Liga titles, two King's Cups, the Spanish Supercup on three occasions as well as two European Supercups and two World Club Championship titles, reports Xinhua.

With the club ending last season without any title under Gerado Martino and now struggling for form under the recently arrived Luis Enrique, it's natural that Barcelona fans should look with nostalgia on those four years, but Guardiola will not return to the club.

"In principal I will not coach Barcelona again. I think that there are cycles in life and my cycle there has finished," he said.

However, the 43-year-old said he would return to live in the city.

"My wife works there and the idea is to stay and live there. When will that be? I don't know," he admitted.
