Mangaluru: St Christopher association celebrates annual hostel day

Mangaluru, Dec 7: St Christopher association celebrated its annual hostel day at St Christopher hostel near Rosario Cathedral in Mangaluru on Friday, December 5 .

Deputy mayor Kavitha Vasu was the chief guest at the hostel day function.

Speaking on the occasion, deputy mayor appreciated the efforts of St Christopher association for providing the shelter in the heart of the city for working men. She congratulated the office bearers of the association for continuing the service started years back to help the fellow persons.







Guest of honour, corporator Abdul Latheef said that he grew up seeing the hostel from his childhood. He remembered the beauty of yearly vehicle blessing ceremony performed at Rosario Cathedral premises by the members of St Christopher association.

Sukumar, the president of the hostel for the past 24 years said he is very happy happy and comfortable at the hostel which is like a home away from home.

The associataion president and also the president of the function, Raymond D'Cunha welcomed honourary president Susheel Noronha and narrated the history of the hostel. Secretary Harold D'Souza read the report and proposed the vote of thanks.

Joint secretary Leena and Dennins conducted the games. Hostel members and and executive members of the committee were present.

The hostel day celebration ended with dinner.
