Udupi, Dec 19: Students’ Islamic Organization (SIO) of India staged a protest against the recent brutal terrorist attack by the Taliban militants on hundreds of innocent Pakistani school children, on Thursday December 18, near Clock Tower, Udupi.

The Pakistani Taliban militants had on Tuesday December 16, slaughtered 141 people including 132 children in a brazen terror attack on an army-run school in Peshawar.

K Paniraj, vice-president, Komu Souharda Vedike, condemning the school attack in Peshawar, said, “A speech and silent tribute will not give peace to the holy souls. India should not be joining its hands with America. There is a strong capitalist power which is destroying the Islamic community. I call upon the public to condemn such inhuman activities.”

Prasanna, senior artiste and Gandhian said, “In a democratic country like India, everyone has the right to express. Keeping the country’s peace is possible through non-violence rather than violence. There is a need to control such inhuman activity. A person or community should be aware of their own religion before pointing out faults of others.”

Mohammed Idrees Hoode said, “Peshawar massacre is outrageous and terrorists have crossed their limits and such violent acts are banned in the Quranic education system. The Quran says that children are flowers of Paradise. He paid tribute to those holy souls.

Mohammed Rehman, president, SIO Udupi, Salavuddin Hoode, Bilal Malpe, and Husain Kodi Bengre were present.
