New Delhi, Jan 17 (IANS): South Africa-based restaurant chain Barcelos is all set to open its first outlet in India in February, a company statement said here Saturday.
The outlet will come up in the posh Khan Market area of the national capital in the first week of February.
Barcelos, which started off in 1993 in Pretoria, has presence in 17 countries with 120 outlets.
"The eatery will mark the 18th country opening for Barcelos. The company sees India as one of the biggest opportunities to establish and expand its brand. Barcelos will have its presence in 10 metro cities of the country with more than 20 outlets in the next five years," the statement said.
The casual dining specialists plan to introduce a menu concentrating on authentic Portuguese flavours, catering to a predominantly vegetarian segment, which would cover about 40 percent of the incoming footfalls.
"We are very confident that the combination of superior service from South Africa and peri-peri flavours would bring, to the Indian customer, a world-class casual dining experience," Rohit Malhotra, general manager (operations), Barcelos, said.
