Berdych breezes into Australian Open 4th round

Melbourne, Jan 23 (IANS): World No. 7 Tomas Berdych of Czech Republic recorded his 300th match win on hard courts, as he put an end to Serb Viktor Troicki’s perfect start to the 2015 season Friday at the Australian Open.

With Novak Djokovic watching from the sidelines, Berdych defeated the World No.1's countryman 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 to reach the fourth round.

It marked his sixth straight victory in seven head to head meetings against Troicki, who had captured the Sydney title last week.

Berdych, a semi-finalist last year in Melbourne, will look to continue his run when he plays an Australian, either Bernard Tomic or Sam Groth.
