Mumbai: Goregaon Karnataka Sangha celebrates 57th Nada Habba

Mumbai, Feb 10: Goregaon Karnataka Sangha operating from Mumbai suburbs for the last six decades held their 57th Nada Habba literary meet at Goregaon Bangoor Nagara Vidhya Bhavan hall on Sunday, February 8.

Charkop Kannadigara Balaga Kandivili honorary chief secretary Raghunath N Shetty lit the traditional lamp and inaugurated the literary meet. Literary and research scholar from Udupi Dr Krishnamoorthi Nitilapura presided over the programme. Equity group of hotels Mumbai Managing director Gopala S Putran and Billavara Association Mumbai divisional executive president Premanath Kotian were present as Chief guest and guest of honor respectively.






Raghunath Shetty speaking on the occasion said that the invitation of Karnataka Sangha has belongingness. “It is a treasure of literature. The association has given shape to citizens. The service of Kannada is strengthening with the service of journalism. As the associations increase, the activities, news opportunities and activists increase.
There is scarcity of the love of mother tongue among Kannadigas. All should be active in order to nurture the love of mother tongue”, he said.

President Dr Krishnamoorthi in his address said that there is one way of life in the country in between regional differences. “Different sects are formed based on our way of life. We Indians, should strengthen the ancient Indian culture”, he said.

Goregaon Karnataka Sangha president Payyaru Ramesh K Shetty welcomed and gave a key note address. He said that the Goregaon Karnataka Sangha is functioning without the cooperation of the government with the coordination of Kannada language lovers. He released 'Mumbelaku', the annual magazine of the association.

Former presidents of the association S M Shetty, Ravi R Anchan, Vice president Laxmi R Shetty, Mundkooru Surendra Salian and others were present. They presented mementos to the guests and felicitated them.

Vidya Deshpande and group sang the welcome song. Women's wing sang the song of inauguration. Women's wing executive president Varija Sadananda, Sneha R Gurukula and Vasanthi Shetty introduced the guests. Honorary chief secretary Meena B Kalavara presented flower bouquets to the guests and honored them. Joint secretary Vasanthi Kotekar compered the programme and proposed Vote of thanks.

The talented people from sub committees and heads of different associations presented cultural programme. Members of Rangasthala division enacted a comedy skit.

In the gathering held in the morning, Dr Sonda Bhaskar Bhat gave a lecture on religion and Dr Kabbinale Balakrishna Bharadwaj gave a lecture on literature.

Mangaluru's littérateur and scholar Dr Kabbinale Balakrishna Bharadhwaj was the president and Jasmine Cooperative Credit Society Limited Kalyan executive president Dr Surendra V Shetty was the chief guest in the Nadahabba celebrations held in the evening. Bombay Bunts
