Mumbai: Ganiga Samaja celebrates eighteenth anniversary

Mumbai, Feb 11: “Members of Ganiga Samaja are talented, gentle and lovers of culture. They are also a reflection of harmony. Though it is a small community, their achievements are noteworthy. Let the community shine as the one loved all over the world instead of it
remaining behind the curtain”, said Sadananda Shetty, executive president of Reliable group of Builders and Developers.

He was speaking as a chief guest in the eighteenth anniversary celebrations of Ganiga Samaja Mumbai held at Mysore Association hall. He launched the www.ganigasamaja.org website of the community in the programme.









Ganiga Samaja Mumbai president Jagannatha M Ganiga presided over the programme. Samaja Bangaluru president H T Narasimha, Ganiga Seva Samaja Kundapura secretary Shivananda Ganiga, Kumta Ganiga Seva Sangha president Madhava Narayana Shetty, Dakshina Kannada district Somakshatriya Vaishanava Samaja Bangaluru honorary president B S Manjunath and Ganiga Samaja Mumbai founder member Nagesh S Balimane were present.

Jayakrishna Shetty, speaking on the occasion said that Ganigas are learning their traditional occupation by birth. Many of them identified by their talents are recognized in the world. Let the community grow as one with bright future, he said.

N Sanjiva Rao and Rathna S Rao, Bangaluru who donated for the construction of office for Ganiga Samaja, Mumbai, Chandrashekar Rao and Vasanthi Chandrashekar Thane, K Shantarama Moorthi and Vishalakshi Shantarama, Gopalakrishna G Ganiga and Sumana Gopalakrishna, Bhaskara M Ganiga and Vasanthi Bhaskar, Madhava A Ganiga and Laxmi Madhav, Balakrishna G Thonse and Yashodha Balakrishna, Chandrashekar R Ganiga and Shankuntala Chandrashekar, Padmanabha N Ganiga and Rathna Padmanabh, Jagadish J Ganiga and Mahalaxmi Jagadish, U Ravi Babu Rao, Vasanthi Gopal Udupi couple and U Narayana Rao, Rama V Ganiga, Sushila Anand Ganiga, Udupi, Kamala Narayan Rao, Taramathi N Bhatkal, Sadashiva Ganiga, Rathnakar A Shetty and other donors, well wishers and elite people from Ganiga community were felicitated by the office bearers on the occasion. Ganiga, Annappayya Kalyanur, Rukmini N Ganiga and Shobha V Ganiga received felicitations.

The guests felicitated the present and past office bearers and presented presents to the winners in competition, presents to the talented and scholarship for students and felicitated them. Vice president Bhaskar M Ganiga, Honorary treasurer Chandrashekar R Ganiga, Joint secretary Madhava A Ganiga, Vidyodaya committee executive president Vijayendra Ganiga and other office bearers were present.

Nagarathna Jagannath Ganiga, Usha B V Rao, Women's wing's Asha Harish Shubha Ganesh Kuthpadi, Shobha Rathnakar Shetty, Mamatha D Rao, Suma Rajesh Kuthpadi, Arathi Ganiga, Veena Dinesh Ganiga, Youth wing's Ganesh Kuthpadi, Jagadish Ganiga and many other members of the community in the city participated in the celebrations. The programme started by praying to Venugopala Krishnaswamy.

Hospitality services Private Limited managing director Y Babu Rao and Devaki Babu Rao couple lit the traditional lamp and inaugurated the programme. Rakshitha V Baliga and Veena D Ganiga led the prayer. In the programme held the whole day long, senior citizens, members, women and children presented various entertainment programmes. Mamatha D Rao
and Devendra S Rao Katpadi compered the cultural programme.

The senior person of the community, Rajyotsava award winner artiste late Kutpadi Ananda M Ganiga was remembered. Vice president Kutpadi Ramachandra M Ganiga welcomed. Women's wing sang traditional prayers. Convener Shankera Hanehalli explained the work of the association. Advocate U Balachandra compered the programme. Honorary chief secretary B V Rao compered the hall programme and proposed Vote of thanks.
