Mumbai, Feb 25: Deepika Nagendra Bhat who has secured first rank in the Kannada M A examination held by the Mumbai university in April,May
2014 has been selected for Varadaraja Adya gold medal, as per a communiqué by the Mumbai university.


Deepika Bhat hails from Mudradi grama near Hebri in Karkal taluk. Being a Yakshagana artiste, she has presented her programmes in
several places. Her programmes in Mumbai and Udupi are held through Badagu Thitta Yakshagana. She has acted in Kannada dramas also.
Photography and writing of poems are her hobbies.

She is the daughter of Mudradi Uppala residents Sridhara Kalkura and Varalaxmi couple.
