Udupi, Feb 20: The Bangalore police have arrested Belapu gram panchayat member Ranju alias Niranjan Shetty in connection with dual murder case of Bangalore on Sunday February 18 evening.

Ranju alias Niranjan Shetty is the nephew of Paniyoor Sadhu Shetty.  The Bangalore police team working under the guidance of CCB chief Ravikante Gowda arrested Niranjan based on the in-coming and out-going calls from underworld don Ravi Poojary's cellphone.  Ravi Poojary is said to be the mastermind in the present case.;

Two real estate staff of a Bangalore-based realtor were shot dead by unidentified men on Thursday February 15 in broad daylight.  The immediate investigation had revealed the involvement of Ravi Poojary in the case.

Ranju alias Niranjan Shetty was arrested by ACP B K Shivram and CCP Vinay Gaonkar while he was attending a function in a school at Paniyoor on Sunday evening.  The police sources claimed that they have elicited important information about the present murder case from the arrested.
