Legalizing it is the best solution . Government can make a lot of money from taxes. Here 1gm costs 25$ through Legal outlets while you get about 20gms through illegal peddlers for the same amount. Most of the 25$ goes in taxes and its safer than cigarette. So why not?

Simple solution to this marijuana problem: legalise it.
    Why?
As of today, illegal trafficking & sale of marijuana a.k.a Ganja is in excess of thousands of crores. And all this trade is unregulated & it is all in black. So profits made by drug lords & gangsters in sale of ganja is untaxed & it is a loss of revenue to the Govt.
Legalasing it will regulate the trade, enhance quality of the consumable (coz as per what I've heard, these loser gangsters adulterate it to maximize profit), and it will be taxed. Once something is taxed, it means that the manufacturer & seller/trader of marijuana will have to register themselves under whatever act applicable & will have to pay tax, duties etc (ex: CST, VAT). Taxes push prices up, which means purchasing of Ganja will become an expensive affair. When something becomes expensive, its consumption declines relatively. Make the laws such that sale of unregistered ganja, by unregistered dealers in unregistered markets will result in a punishable offence.
Hence legalising it will:Increase prices, reduce consumption, increase revenue for govt, maybe increase jobs too, reduce drug related crimes, increase regulation.
Of course health risks are there, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist with the alcohol & tobacco industry. Inster buyer beware clause.

Drug peddlers: Narcotics: Rapists: Mafia: Extortionists: under world:pimps:
should be lynched by the public/janatha once caught. just like Nagaland case.
This is curse for civil society..to root out the curse just eliminate the responsible for this evil..
total elimination..they have no space in society.. community.. in the nation..Let them be educated and work hard ..sweat off the brow to feed their stomachs..not kill innocent school/college kids...selling Drugs .

Life is short. We come barehanded, we go bare handed.

If you believe in GOD, he has given you this life filled with small goodies, which you have to identify and pick. Alcohol, Marijuana etc are small pleasures given by GOD to make the life easier and enjoyable.
Do not go behind these completely, coz you will miss other goodies like family, friends etc.

Prayers, Marijuana, alcohol, cigarettes, temple visits, namaz, church masses etc are all goodies bestowed upon you by God. But be just in getting yourself indulged in these things. Anything in excess is bad.

The Ganja was banned in India in the year 1985 through NDPS act by Rajiv Gandhi Govt. This was bought in due to pressure from Western countries. Historically Ganja smoking and Bhang drinking is way life for Indians especially for Hindu's. There are still some states like Orissa where Ganja is not banned. We have to control this with restricting age limit etc, but complete banning is counter productive. This has become big money making business for Anti social elements...

    Gaanja too has become expensive.
As per this report it is Rs.400 per 20 gm sachet.
In our times it was just 50-100 rupees.
    Inflation!

Ganja & any type of narcotic peddling, Duplicate medicine manufacturing /trading & food adulteration should be considered equivalent to mass murder and treated the convicts accordingly.

    I differ with your view.
Put an age restriction. Banning is not a solution.
Two staes in USA have legalised the use of gaanja.

Indeed a serious concern. A threat to our society and especially to our younger generation. Request all the organizations to unite together to fight this cancer in our society which is destroying our youth and our future. Where our so called Moral Police and PFI etc…? They should be taking these issues and go after our youth.

Lawyers please come forward to release Saleem on bail. Break the legs of those lawyers and also of saleem if bail is given. Catch that Manga and make him Ganja. Those buyers also should get severe punishment. Jai Ho Police. All the funds of Ganja and all the confiscated items value of sellers and buyers should go to the Police. Then you see the improvement. Jai Hind
