Mangalore, Feb 26: He swims like a fish! This is a common expression one gets to hear about Aniketh Albert D’Souza, an ace swimmer who has carved a niche for himself in the national level.

A student of first year BBM of SDM College of Business Management, young Aniketh has the pride of being the fastest swimmer at the national level in the national level Aquatic championship held in Trichur in 2005.

   

He became the only person to get medals from the National Games 2007 to Mangalore. In the recently concluded National Games held at Gawahati, Assam from February 9 to 18, 2007 Aniketh secured the gold in 4x100mts freestyle relay, gold in 4x100mts medley relay, bronze in 50mts Freestyle and another bronze in 100mts Freestyle.

In the Senior State Aquatic Championships, held at Bangalore from August 3 to 5, 2006 He secured two golds and two silvers.

 

In the 60th Senior National Aquatic Championship 2006 held at Bangalore from September 21 to 25, Aniketh secured two golds and a silver medal.

His track record is adorned with prizes in every competition he has participated. He is currently being trained under Ramakrishna Rao and Umesh of Jai Hind Swimming Club, Mangalore.

 

In the Intercollegiate Swimming Competition held at Manipal, KMC pool, he secured gold in all the events (total 13 events).

Aniketh has also secured Individual Championship and the Runner up team trophy for SDM College of Business Management being the only team member to represent his college.

In the Inter-Varsity Swimming Meet (National level) held at Chandigarh, Punjab in October 2006 He secured two gold medals and two silver medals.

Aniketh is the son of Ivan D'Souza and Severine D'Souza of Valencia.
