Mangalore, Mar 29: Dakshina Kannada district is all set to hold the II PUC examination from Thursday.

According to the information given by the district administration, the District Vigilance Committee will be headed by the Deputy Commissioner, the Superintendent of Police and the Deputy Director of Women and Child Welfare Department.

All the five taluks will also have vigilance squads. According to the district office statistics, 19,290 candidates will take up the examination in the new scheme, out of which 9,209 are girls. A total of 391 candidates will take up the examination in the old scheme, out of which 154 are girls.

There are 36 examination centres in the district, out of which 19 are in Mangalore taluk.
