Sullia Mar 31: The judicial custody of the accused in the acid attack case on former town panchayat president and advocate M Venkappa Gowda and his wife Champa Gowda, has been extended till April 11.

The accused Narayana Gowda, Beedi Usman and Santhosh were produced in the court on Friday on 30 March.  Civil judge J R Mendonca remanded them to judicial custody till April 11.

Meanwhile, as decided by Bar Association none of the local advocates have taken up the case on behalf of the accused.  The association which has condemned the acid attack on former town panchayat president and advocate M Venkappa Gowda and his wife Champa Gowda has decided not to take up the case for the accused as a protest against the attack.
