Mangaluru, May 24: Mangalore Central in association with United Bikers of Mangalore and Giving Tree trust initiated a ‘Road Safety Campaign’, on Sunday May 24 at10.30 am.

The flag off was done by Central Store general manager, Prasanna at Forum Fiza Mall. The team cruised around the city spreading awareness on ‘Helmet safety & don't drink and drive’.

The bike rally went on for an hour, covering Hampankatta, Jyothi, Balmatta, Kadri Park, KSRTC, Lalbagh, City centre and back to Forum Fiza Mall.

With increasing accidents in the city, Mangalore Central thought of taking up this initiative and spreading the importance of wearing helmets when riding a two wheeler. The volunteers passed stickers that said ‘Stay safe and Wear a helmet’.

There is a helmet selfie competition that is held in ‘Mangalore Meri Jaan’ facebook page where you can upload your selfie wearing a helmet. You are required to have a driving license to be eligible for this contest.

One lucky winner will get exciting gifts from Mangalore Central, Forum Fiza Mall.

i saw the rally .it was very good. but one question remained in may mind "Safety bikers are wearing helmets but there is no mirrors in few (maybe more)bikes". Is it not a violence of safety ?
