Udupi, Apr 12: The 74th All-India Kannada Sahitya Sammelana will be held from October 24 to October 27.

Addressing press persons here on Wednesday April 11 president of Kannada Sahitya Parishat Chandrashekar Patil said that the Sammelana will be inaugurated by a non-Kannadiga writer of national repute in order to promote linguistic harmony, although the final decision in this regard is still pending.

The Sammelan will be held at TMA Pai B Ed College premises at Kunjibettu here. The event will be flagged off with a Kannada Bhuvaneshwari procession.

Patil said that various committees have been arranged for the smooth running of the sammelan. On Wednesday a meeting was held to form organizing committee and it was also decided to have 45 sub-committees, 101 honorary advisers, 20 secretaries, and 50 joint secretaries. The executive committee of the parishat will work in coordination with the sub-committees, he informed.

Patil also said that chief minister Kumaraswamy will be invited to deliver the valedictory address.
