Mangalore, Apr 13: A meeting to discuss the Regulation of Public Gatherings (Dakshina Kannada) will be held on Friday April 13.

The notification has been issued under the section 31(1) (0) of the Karnataka Police Act, 1963, which empowers the district magistrate and deputy commissioner to regulate all types of Public assemblies and Procession.

A press release from Ivan D’Souza, lawyer and former chairman of the Karnataka Cashew Development Corporation, here on Thursday said that objections and suggestions are to be submitted before Friday April 20.

He also termed the notification unconstitutional and said it was aimed at depriving the people of their rights.
