Puttur, Apr 13: A KSRTC Airavata bus turned turtle near Ichalampady Cross here killing an M-80 rider on Thursday April 12.

The deceased has been identified as Vithal Shetty (39), son of Tukrappa of Ichalampady.  Along with this five more passengers too have sustained injuries in the accident.  Sunanda who was riding pillion along with Vithal, bus passengers Geeta (44), Gunashekhar (31, Murali (42) and one more person whose identity is not established have sustained injuries.

Vithal was on his way to home from Nelyadi along with his relative Sunanda when a KSRTC Volvo bus rammed into their mobike at Periyashanti.  As a result bus turned turtle and Vithal was stuck underneath it.  He sustained serious injuries and died on the spot.

Since Sunanda was thrown far away when bus hit their vehicle, she was saved from fatal accident.  However, she sustained serious injuries. Even four passengers in the bus sustained injuries and are admitted to the hospital.

Nelyadi police have registered a complaint in this regard.
