Kundapur, Apr 14: A Protest was held of the taluk panchayat office here against the Social Welfare officer alleging that he has been promoting corruption in the society.
Dalit Sangharsha Samiti (Bhimavada) led the protest on Friday April 13. They accused that he has been mentally harassing Rajeevi, a warden in girls hostel here. They also said that it is solely owing to his negligence that the construction of the proposed Ambedkar Bhavan which was accepted long ago has been pending.
The protestors also charged him for misusing the funds released for the welfare of dalits in the taluk.
Dalit Sanghrsha Samiti (Bhimavada) state-level union leader Uday Kumar Tallur, district convener Shekar Hejmadi, taluk convener Keshav and others were present on the occasion.
