Mufti inaugurates police-public cricket league


Srinagar, June 6 (IANS): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed inaugurated the Police-Public Cricket Premier League (PPCPL) at the Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium here on Saturday.

The event was hosted by commentator Charu Sharma and attended by a large number of people.

Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif and Kashmir Ranji team captain Pervez Rasool were also present.

The chief minister released the theme song and tournament fixture, besides unveiling the trophy. He later presented mementoes to Kaif and Rasool.

In the cricketing extravaganza, being organised for the first time, 12 teams will lock horns in the T-20 format.
