Mangalore, Apr 20: Tulu will soon be taught in schools from class VI as the third language, stated a press release from the state Tulu Sahitya Academy.

A delegation led by Academy president Seetaram Kulal had met the director of department of state educational research and training Suryanarayana Reddy in Bangalore recently who has given assurance of informing the government on the aspects of introducing Tulu in schools, the release stated.

The Academy has also constituted a committee to prepare textbooks for class VI and the same has been informed to Reddy.

A memorandum in this regard has also been submitted to district in-charge minister Nagaraj Shetty, stated the release.
