Udupi, Apr 20: At least 30 people injured after two buses carrying two separate marriage entourages collided at Polipu Cross near Kaup here on Friday April 20 evening.

Spot reports said that drivers of both the buses, Chandrakant and Khader are injured seriously. Both the buses were carrying two separate marriage parties. 

While one marriage entourage was on its way back after attending marriage, the other was on its way to marriage hall.

While the first bus was carrying persons who had attended a marriage party in the city, the second bus was carrying a marriage entourage from Yermal to Katapadi to attend the auspicious Godholi Lagna.

 It is said that both the buses were speeding recklessly and it was owing to the negligence that both he drivers were not able to control their vehicles.

 The impact of the accident was such that both the buses were damaged to a large extent.  Traffic was affected for about half an hour owing to this accident. Road was cleared later with the help of locals and police.

A case has been registered by Kaup police in this regard.
