Mangalore, Apr 21: A convention on ‘Mansas’ will be organized by Tulunad Mansa Samaja Seva Sangha at Beltangady in Dakshina Kannada on Saturday April 28.

Addressing the presspersons organization president Achuta S said that the convention on Mansas is to exert pressure on the government to include Mansas in the scheduled castes Category. He also informed that the convention would be inaugurated by Former minister and president of Janata Dal (Secular) H D Deve Gowda.  Minister of social welfare Balachandra Jarakiholi, MP and BJP state president D V Sadananda Gowda will be present at the inaugural function.

Achyuta further said that even though Mansas are Dalits the government had not included them in the scheduled caste category. On the other hand Mansas are being treated as untouchables in the society. The aim of this convention is to organize Mansas to fight for their legitimate rights.
